YOUR WEDDING AND COVID19
Postpone & Reschedule or Cancel
Should You Postpone, Reschedule or Cancel Your 2020 Wedding Plans?
With all of the confusion that is surrounding the bridal industry at the moment, many couples are left feeling confused and worried about the viability of their upcoming wedding date. With Covid19’s progression into a pandemic and people all over the world being advised to stay home and practice social distancing, many couples are simply playing the waiting game, feeling uncertain about whether to cancel or postpone their special day.
Having talked to a number of wedding venues and suppliers, the feedback has been that the key is to focus on postponing and rescheduling your wedding rather than cancelling it altogether. This way you are less likely to lose money and businesses can move your deposits to a later date in the diary.
STORE CLOSURES FOR THE FORESEEABLE FUTURE
Wedding venues are in the same boat as everyone right now and share a common interest of safely providing you with a special and memorable wedding day where physically possible. The word is re-schedule don’t cancel!
Our advice would be to work together with your venue and wedding suppliers to achieve realistic dates and time frames to ensure that you arrive at the best possible outcome for everyone involved. After all, we’re all in this together!
How Far Ahead Should We Reschedule To?
This is the big question that many couples really don’t know the answer to. Initially 2020 was seen as an iconic year that attracted many couples to plan weddings during this time. As a result, most venues are booked to capacity and left with the daunting prospect of moving weddings forward in line with government guidelines. When booking your new dates, consider things like how far ahead you are willing to book. Would you be willing to swap out a weekend date for one during the week? Would you be willing to wait another 8 months and go into 2021 with your wedding plans? These are all things to think about when manoeuvring through these unprecedented times.
Whatever happens we’re sure that you will have a wonderful and special day!
